Simply Queen is fronted by Freddie impersonator extraordinaire Rick a songwriter, recording artist and live entertainer for over four decades. Rick is a vocalist, guitarist, pianist and producer. Throughout his storied career, he has entertained countless thousands as both headliner and supporting act for many legendary international artists - often performing for charitable organizations and their associated fund-raising events along the way.
For many years, Rick contemplated a tribute to his iconic rock heroes - Freddie Mercury and Queen. Encouraged by the rising popularity of tribute shows across the globe, the time finally seemed right! With the release of the smash hit, bio-pic "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the ensuing accolades and awards, Queen has been thrust back into the public consciousness - not only rekindling the affections of existing fans but gaining whole new generations of them! It's clear without a doubt that Freddie Mercury is revered and beloved as one of the greatest vocalists, showmen and songwriters of all time and in that spirit, Rick has been belting out the songs and channeling Freddie's charisma and exuberance to sold-out audiences across North America and beyond for the past ten years now, thriving on the energy of his enthusiastic crowds from the moment he hits the stage!
Simply Queen is fronted by Freddie Mercury impersonator extraordinaire Rick Rock. Guitarist Bob Wegner was hand-picked by Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor to play guitar in several productions of the award-winning "We Will Rock You" musical. Drummer Phil Charrette and bassist Mitch Taylor are veterans of the southwestern Ontario and Detroit circuits.
The band performs all the iconic songs that made Queen one of the most legendary rock bands of all time, and faithfully recreates the grand scope of Queen's live shows, both musically and visually, with attention to detail capturing the live amazing live Queen experience that filled stadiums around the world. No backing tracks - it's all live, and "Guaranteed to Blow Your Mind!"
Freddie Mercury Tribute -Vocalist, guitarist, pianist, songwriter, live performer and producer in the Windsor Ontario and Detroit Michigan circuits. He has supported countless acts including Edgar Winter, BTO, Burton Cummings, Mitch Rider, Kansas, The Turtles, Three Dog Night and, Kim Mitchell. Rick took his dynamic voice and stage impersonator extraordinaire to new heights by launching "The Freddie Mercury Rock Show" at the North American Queen convention, and performs in the "Legends Live" shows. The total Freddie package front man for "Simply Queen," which he says is a match "Made in Heaven" and strives to be the most exciting experience of a LIVE tribute.
